Polyglutamic Acid (PGA)(聚麩胺酸)

Polyglutamic Acid (PGA)

Beta-Glucan Skincare: Better Hydration Than Hyaluronic Acid?

Soothe and hydrate deeply. Beta-Glucan repairs the skin barrier and retains 20% more moisture than HA. Ideal for calming sensitive and red skin.

Efficacy

Polyglutamic acid is a polymer of glutamic acid with strong water-binding and moisture-retaining capacity. Studies suggest it can outperform HA in some hydrating aspects. It forms asmooth, hydrating film on the skin, providing long-lasting softness and plumpness.

Suitable

  • Suitable for daily use on dehydrated, dry and fine-line-prone skin. Considered pregnancy-safe.
  • Generally well-tolerated; patch-test in very sensitive users.

Pair – other ingredients

  • Good with: Excellent in combination with HA, glycerin, ceramides and peptides for layered hydration and anti-aging support.
  • Avoid / caution: No strong known ingredient conflicts.

Pair with beauty device

In gel form, PGA makes an excellent conductive and hydrating medium for EMS or ultrasound devices, keeping the skin very hydrated and smooth during treatment for a more plump, dewy finish.

Skin Type

Great for dehydrated, dry, combination and early-aging skin, generally tolerated by sensitive types.

⚠️ Expert Safety Tips & Usage Guidelines

To ensure the best results and safety when using our skincare devices and products, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Conductivity Matters

When using RF (Radio Frequency) or EMS (Microcurrent) devices, you MUST use a water-based gel or serum. Oil-based products will block the current, rendering the device ineffective and potentially causing heat accumulation on the skin surface.

Avoid Active Acids

On days you use energy-based devices (especially RF or heating modes), please pause the use of strong active ingredients such as AHAs, BHAs, or Retinol. Combining high heat with potent exfoliants may damage the skin barrier and cause irritation.

Patch Test First

Before applying any new serum or gel to your face, always perform a patch test on your inner arm or behind the ear. Wait 24 hours to ensure no allergic reaction occurs.

Strict Sun Protection

Post-treatment skin (especially after Brightening or LED therapy) can be photosensitive. You must apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily to prevent UV damage and pigmentation rebound.
